We do however understand that sometimes concerns may arise which require investigation.

Group Scout Leaders manage the scouting activities within their Scout Group. They will listen to the concern and will do their best to answer your concerns.

All our local managers and leaders are volunteers and undertake their roles in their spare time, so please allow them time to respond.

How we keep your child safe
Scouting offers fun, challenge and adventure to nearly 400,000 young people in the UK. We know that young people thrive in safe surroundings so we are committed to making sure that Scouting is enjoyable and safe for everyone who takes part.
As a parent or carer, you will have questions about how we do this, and we hope to provide the answers in our ‘Safe and Sound’ leaflet.
Our Adult volunteers are required to hold an enhanced disclosure certificate (DBS). They also undertake training on safeguarding and are provided with a Yellow Card “Young People First”, providing the code of behaviour. Leaders also undertake regular first aid training and undertake a series of training modules to ensure that, as far as reasonably possible, Scouting activities are undertaken safely, with the welfare of young people protected (including anti-bullying and inclusion policies.)
Our Adult volunteers make sure that our Programme is fun and exciting and that it meets our Policy, Organisation and Rules, Code of Behaviour, Child Protection and safety guidelines so that young people stay safe while they enjoy themselves and learn.
